In the Field: Powering Performance at Scale

LoadScape Supports 270-Generator AWS Project

When a large-scale data center project in Michigan called for more than 270 Cat® generators, MacAllister Machinery faced a critical challenge. Each unit would require rigorous testing within a tight timeframe, leaving no room for costly downtime. Reliability could not be left to chance, so Macallister turned to LoadScape.

“We haven’t had any downtime with the LoadScape units, and that’s the biggest thing,” said Shawn Fine, Commissioning Manager. “We’re actually ahead of schedule on the two buildings where they’re deployed.”

Designed for real-world field conditions, LoadScape’s containerized load banks proved ideal for the demands of a fast-moving jobsite filled with heavy equipment and tight clearances.

“They’re small, easy to maneuver, and super simple to use. That cuts down on field time. For my team, the ability to change load steps right from the truck using the hand-held portable controller has been huge.”

Fine says the support they’ve received from LoadScape has been even more valuable. “We had one minor issue early on, and the team had a fix in under an hour. That level of responsiveness, day in and day out, makes all the difference on a project of this size.”With two units already in use, a third on the way, and more buildings coming online over the next few years, MacAllister plans to continue using LoadScape as a trusted partner from start to finish.
